Through this.
The Good Builder
The good builder cannot be pulled out.”
The person who builds virtue in themselves is unshakeable. Nothing can pull them away.
The Good Binder
The good binder cannot be taken off.”
The person who embraces the Tao cannot be separated from it. Their embrace is unbreakable.
The Continuation
Sons and grandsons will continue the sacrifices without end.”
When virtue is cultivated, descendants continue the practice. This creates lasting legacy.
The Spread of Cultivation
- 修之於身 — Cultivate in the body → virtue becomes real (真)
- 修之於家 — Cultivate in the home → virtue overflows (餘)
- 修之於鄉 — Cultivate in the township → virtue grows (長)
- 修之於國 — Cultivate in the nation → virtue flourishes (豐)
- 修之於天下 — Cultivate in the world → virtue becomes universal (普)
Each level expands the cultivation.
Observing Through Levels
Use the body to observe the body. Use the home to observe the home.”
Use each level to understand that level. This is the Taoist method of observation.
Knowing the World
How do I know the world? Through this.”
Through this method of cultivation and observation, I know the world.
